John Bird's guide to the  handlebar swap to 1”  (master cylinders/switches/grips)

To go to a 1” handlebar you will need new master cylinders, and controls/switches as well as 1” grips.

Part numbers for the master cylinders and switches are below…I searched for these by lowest price. These are approximate prices,   www.servicehonda.com  seems to sell lower than most places we’ve found online or otherwise.

Clutch master cylinder……..#22890-MZ0-A41    -   $60

Brake master cylinder……..#45510-MZ0-A41   -    $75

Starter/Kill switch…………..#35013-MCH-000    -   $50

Options for left side switches

Turn signal switch………..#35020-MCH-000   -   $55  *No choke lever.

Turn signal switch………..#35020-MAH-A00   -   $65  *With choke lever.

The reason for two choices on the left side switches is…if when you change your bars they are low enough the choke cable may hit your tank…in this case you may want to order the switch with no choke lever and add a choke “pull” to your bike or rough it without a choke, which is what I’m doing.

I went with Kuryakyn “ISO” grips (universal 1”) around $50. The choice of grips is HUGE, but Kuryakyn has really nice stuff and you can get pegs, shift lever covers etc. to match.

See picture above, this shows the new/late model type of master cylinders and switches.
