John Bird's guide to 7/8” to 1”  shims or adapters

 These are needed whenever an aftermarket 7/8” handlebar is used on the Super.  This is because the Super was made with a unique set of handlebars that are 1” diameter, except for the ends where the grips, master cylinders, and switches attach…the diameter at the ends is 7/8”.  These can be purchased from an aftermarket supply store usually for $5-$10.
