Jay Terrence's V65 Project

A second brave soul ventures down the path previously blazed by Alan Seagrave - Jay Terrence of Canada has elected to have the massive V65 shoe-horned into his 1987 VF700C Supermagna.

Story: I took a couple shots of the work so far on my 87 700 frame. The work is being done by Chris James and Danny Stang of Westside Choppers, Westbank, B.C. ( under my watchful eye!!) Most of the welding is just being completed, gussets are added at all bend points for extra frame strength. More gussets are being added were the side covers mount as well. The new motor mounts are 2 pieces of steel angled together and welded solid, they are smaller and stronger than plate. You might notice the angle of the new bent frame matches the other side in angle, this makes it possible to reuse my lower cowling. The old foot peg mounts are being removed and filled, except the kick stand mount, and new holes are being put up the frame for forward controls. The new holes are drilled, then tubing is put through the hole for strength, then it it welded air tight, this prevents collapsing of the frame tube and because the one side has coolant going through it as well. Stoppers are being placed on the rear brake side for a cable rather than pedal and lever to the rear drum, so it will be cable from the controls all the way back to the drum lever for a cleaner look. The shifter is going to be a compressed air shift rather than the lever as well. I love the pic with my daughter Lilly, Honda frame on a Harley logo. priceless!!!! More to come.
