| Story: |
I joined the U.S. Air Force in
2000 and met my friend Rodrigo. Rodrigo and I rode
everywhere together in my car. So when I got a new
assignment, he didn't have a ride. So after
searching for an answer to his predicament, he came
across this motorcycle a guy was selling because he
too got another assignment and couldn't take the
bike with him. So after review I agreed to lend him
some money to buy it. The guy was asking $1,500 for
it (which at the time seemed reasonable until I
found out the real value of it) and so I lent
Rodrigo the money and moved -- never getting the
chance to see my friend ride it in a blaze of glory.
About a year later Rodrigo calls me up and says, he
was accepted to the U.S. Air Force Academy and
couldn't take the bike with him. Since I loaned him
some money to buy the bike he thought of me first
before he sold it. He said he would sale it to me
for $1,500 as well. I quickly took the offer and he
brought the bike. The rest is history.
The new paint scheme. I have been
contemplating painting the bike for a while because
the paint has faded in areas. I love black cars and
thought black would be nice. It wasn't until I was
looking in a chopper magazine that I saw a bike that
was painted with a spray in bed liner. After
checking with some compaies that do that they told
me to buy the paint in cans and do it myself. I am
very pleased with the results. My friends call it
the Bat Bike and other say it looks like a road
warrior out of a movie. I still don't own the
leathers though and the military won't let me grow a
beard. |
